Has Comfy
Has pretty
Has V8
Is good for french car chase.

Won’t get you to the shop though. Need a tow truck for that.

It is light, one can push it.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:31 |

It can do anything except look interesting.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:32 |

But I want Nogaro Blue. Is manual? Does off-road? Is light?
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:33 |

Can be manual
Is AWD for offroad
Aluminum
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:34 |

It looks super interesting.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:34 |

Not if it doesn’t run :p
Here is a better alternative. And most people like RWD better than FWD anyway ;)
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:35 |

In other words, the car can’t do it. You need to do that yourself.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:35 |

Why not RS6 Avant(C5)? Has all of those plus two turbos and extra room for dogs/stuff/activities.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:36 |

Has vomit inducing chrome sofa wheels.
Is not good.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:36 |

All you need...
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:37 |
|
Yes, but once it is broken it stops being a car and becomes the best paper weight
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:37 |
|
Can even pull trains.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:38 |
|
Too big and heavy to be a ‘do it all’ kind of vehicle. I question your ‘has sporty’ claim.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:38 |

Needs more wagon:
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:38 |
|
Yes, Audi S8 is also best locomotive.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:38 |
|
Fine :p
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:39 |
|
Has less comfy, no V8.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:40 |
|
As much as like the LS (and I do like it a lot) the S8 is just better in every conceivable non-reliability related way.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:40 |
|
Two turbos are good, but it is less comfy and the V8 sounds nicer.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:41 |

Counterpoint.
Does everything mentioned before, but with a V10. What more could you ask for?
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:42 |

Matchpoint.
No 90's charm.

I had an A4, and it’s the one car I owned that I truly miss.
However, that Audi cost me more to repair than any other car, it left me stranded more times than any other car, and it had more options on it that did not work correctly than any other car.
Maybe we fall in love with the wrong cars?
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:43 |

I got to admit that I like the D3 a bit more but the D2 A8s are sleek and have aged extremely well, unlike the W140.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:46 |
|
One of the better looking cars Audi has made in recent memory. I saw a purple D2 A8 last night and just stared at it.

90s German Large Executive Car is best Executive Car.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:47 |

I’m not generally someone who gives much of a shit about wheels but god those are fucking terrible
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:48 |
|
The D2 has a lot of presence on the road even though it’s conservatively styled.
It also has a lot of presence in the shop.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:49 |

Fine.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:51 |

Counterpoint
Counterpoint 2:
5 speed S8 reaches 62 mph in 5,4 seconds
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:51 |
|
They look like hubcaps.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:52 |
|
Yes I agree that the NA V8 sounds better, though the Biturbo V8 also sounds quite good. And the comfort of a RS6 is doable, though I guess it’s maybe a bit too firm for long distances, not as cushy as an A8 anyway.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:52 |
|
Show me some nice wheels then, so I can disagree with you even if the wheels you show me are actually pretty.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:53 |

The Acura Legend and RL are cool, too. FWD like the A8, all the good things you like about the A8, and much better cars.
And there’s also the full-size pre-CT6 Cadllacs. The Deville/DTS and XTS
The XTS and newer RL/RLX are FWD-based AWD just like your Audis :)
Is it bad that I search for FWD A8's on Craigslist from time to time and think they’re funny?
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:54 |
|
Not to me. Now that silver Maserati you posted a while back, that’s interesting. Would love to have one of those.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:57 |
|
S8 is not FWD like its weak brethren, Audi S8 is powerful AWD.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 15:58 |

That’s a dream car right there, the 5000 GT Coupe by Frua, just 5 made if I’m not mistaken.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 16:01 |

It’s striking. I thought it was a Mexico at first glance. Very special car.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 16:05 |
|
So it’s fast in a straight line. Fast =/= sporty. A Miata is sporty, yet not (very) fast.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 16:06 |
|
I understand what you mean, compared to other regular cars I see the S8 being sporty, because it certainly isn’t all that fast, but it is light, has AWD and quite a good suspension
![]() 08/16/2016 at 16:38 |
|
It needs to a wagon/avant to be a true do all car.
![]() 08/16/2016 at 18:54 |
|
I miss when the big cars looked like this...
![]() 08/17/2016 at 14:44 |
|
I know a guy who put S8 mods on his A8 and then autocrossed it.
![]() 08/17/2016 at 14:44 |
|
Those are the standard AVUS S4/S8 rims from that era.
![]() 08/17/2016 at 14:56 |

Point remains valid
![]() 08/18/2016 at 12:14 |

10/10 would love to own
